Day 1: Arrival and Preparation
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be greeted by our team and transferred to your accommodation in Moshi. Use this day to rest and acclimate to the altitude. We’ll conduct a briefing to review your gear and discuss the details of your climb. Enjoy a restful evening in Moshi, preparing for the adventure ahead.
Day 2: Umbwe Gate to Umbwe Camp
Your adventure begins with a transfer to the Umbwe Gate. From here, you’ll start your trek through dense rainforest. As you ascend, the forest gradually opens up, leading you to Umbwe Camp. Spend the night in this tranquil setting, nestled among the trees, and take in the peaceful ambiance of the mountain.
Day 3: Umbwe Camp to Barranco Camp
The trail today continues through the rainforest before transitioning to moorland. You’ll tackle the challenging Barranco Wall, which offers spectacular views and a thrilling ascent. Arrive at Barranco Camp, situated beneath the imposing wall. This camp provides stunning vistas and an excellent opportunity for acclimatization.
Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Today involves a traverse of the Barranco Wall, offering breathtaking panoramic views. After this rewarding climb, descend into the Karanga Valley and continue to Karanga Camp. This camp offers a serene environment and a chance to acclimatize further, preparing for the ascent to higher altitudes.
Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Ascend from Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp, the base camp for your final summit attempt. The terrain becomes more rugged as you approach Barafu Camp, located at a higher altitude. Spend the afternoon resting and preparing for your summit bid, which will begin in the early hours of the following day.
Day 6: Barafu Camp to Summit and Descent to Mweka Camp
Your summit attempt begins early in the morning, with a midnight departure to reach Uhuru Peak by sunrise. Enjoy the awe-inspiring views from the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest point. Afterward, descend to Mweka Camp, where you’ll celebrate your achievement and rest for the night.
Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
Complete your trek with a descent from Mweka Camp to the Mweka Gate. At the gate, you’ll receive a summit certificate to commemorate your accomplishment. Following the ceremony, you’ll be transferred back to your accommodation for a well-deserved rest and to reflect on your remarkable journey.
