Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you'll be transferred to your accommodation in Moshi. Use the day to rest and prepare for your trek. In the evening, meet with your guide to review your itinerary and gear.


Day 2: Moshi to Umbwe Gate (1,800m) to Umbwe Camp (2,850m)

Begin your trek with a drive to the Umbwe Gate for registration. From there, hike through dense rainforest to Umbwe Camp. This initial trek is steep and challenging, but it rewards you with the rich beauty of the tropical forest.

- **Distance:** 11 km (6.8 miles)

Day 3: Umbwe Camp (2,850m) to Barranco Camp (3,960m)

Continue your ascent through the Umbwe Forest, emerging into the moorland zone. The trail becomes steeper as you approach the Barranco Camp, known for its stunning views of the Barranco Wall and the surrounding landscape.

- **Distance:** 10 km (6.2 miles)

- **Hiking Time:** 6-7 hours

Day 4: Barranco Camp (3,960m) to Karanga Camp (4,035m)

Start the day by tackling the Barranco Wall, a non-technical but strenuous climb. From the top, continue to Karanga Camp, which serves as a critical acclimatization point. Enjoy panoramic views and prepare for the ascent to higher altitudes.

Day 5: Karanga Camp (4,035m) to Barafu Camp (4,640m)

Ascend through the alpine desert landscape to Barafu Camp, the base camp for your summit attempt. This challenging hike is essential for acclimatization and allows for rest and preparation for the final push to the summit.


- **Elevation:** 4,035m to 4,640m (13,272 ft to 15,331 ft)

- **Distance:** 4 km (2.5 miles)

- **Hiking Time:** 4-5 hours

- **Habitat:** Arctic


Day 6: Barafu Camp (4,640m) to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) & Descent to Mweka Camp (3,100m)

Begin your summit bid around midnight, navigating through the cold and darkness to reach Uhuru Peak at sunrise. After celebrating your achievement, descend to Mweka Camp, navigating rocky terrain and the lush forest. Enjoy a well-earned rest and a celebratory dinner.


- Elevation:** 4,640m to 5,895m (15,331 ft to 19,341 ft) to Uhuru Peak, then descend to 3,100m (10,170 ft) at Mweka Camp

- **Distance:** 16 km (10 miles) total

- **Hiking Time:** 12-14 hours

- **Habitat:** Arctic (summit), Rain Forest (descent)


Day 7: Mweka Camp (3,100m) to Mweka Gate (1,630m)

Descend through the rain forest to Mweka Gate, where you will receive your summit certificate. From the gate, continue to Mweka Village for a transfer back to Moshi. Celebrate your accomplishment and relax after your successful climb.

- **Distance:** 10 km (6 miles)
