Day 1: Arrival and Preparation
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where our team will transfer you to your accommodation in Moshi. Spend the day relaxing and acclimating to the altitude. We'll conduct a briefing to review your gear and discuss the climb details. Enjoy a peaceful evening in Moshi to prepare for the adventure ahead.
Day 2: Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut
Transfer to the Marangu Gate to start your trek. Hike through the lush rainforest, where you'll experience the vibrant flora and rich wildlife. Reach Mandara Hut for your first overnight stay, surrounded by the tranquility of the forest.
Day 3: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
Continue your ascent from Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut. The trail takes you through a transition zone from rainforest to heath and moorland, offering expansive views as you climb. At Horombo Hut, enjoy the stunning landscapes and take time to acclimatize.
Day 4: Horombo Hut - Acclimatization Day
Spend the day at Horombo Hut for acclimatization. Explore the surrounding area with a short hike to help your body adjust to the higher altitude. This rest day is crucial for a successful summit attempt, allowing you to gain strength and prepare for the final push.
Day 5: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut
Ascend from Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut, moving into the alpine desert zone. The environment becomes more barren and rugged as you climb higher. Arrive at Kibo Hut, where you’ll rest and prepare for the summit attempt, which begins in the early hours of the next morning.
Day 6: Kibo Hut to Summit and Descent to Horombo Hut
Start your summit attempt in the early hours, aiming to reach Uhuru Peak by sunrise. Experience the breathtaking views from Africa’s highest point. Afterward, descend back to Horombo Hut to rest and celebrate your achievement.
Day 7: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate
Complete your trek by descending from Horombo Hut to the Marangu Gate. At the gate, you’ll receive a summit certificate to mark your accomplishment. Following the ceremony, you’ll be transferred back to your accommodation in Moshi for a well-deserved rest.
