Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, your Active Planet Safaris guide will pick you up and transfer you to Tarangire National Park, a drive of approximately two and a half hours. Named after the Tarangire River, the park is renowned for its large elephant herds and is a haven for wildlife, including giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests, and a variety of predators like lions and leopards. Tarangire also boasts the highest number of bird species in any park globally. You'll see the majestic Baobab trees, some over a thousand years old. Enjoy a picnic lunch within the park before transferring to your accommodation in Karatu for the night.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti National Park
Begin your day with breakfast before ascending to the cooler regions of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The Ngorongoro Crater, a massive collapsed volcano, offers a glimpse into a pristine wilderness of savannahs, acacia woodlands, and shimmering lakes. The Crater is home to dense populations of large mammals, including the endangered black rhino. After exploring this natural wonder, you'll travel through Ngorongoro to Serengeti National Park, entering from the south.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park to Karatu
Explore the vast, untouched grasslands of the Serengeti, famous for its abundant wildlife and the annual Great Migration of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope. The Serengeti's climate and vegetation have remained largely unchanged for millions of years, offering excellent wildlife sightings and predator encounters, including lions, cheetahs, and leopards. After an exhilarating day in the Serengeti, you'll head back to Karatu, soaking in more of Tanzania’s natural beauty along the way.

Day 5: Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha
After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a compact yet diverse park located 120km west of Arusha. Known for its shallow, seasonal lake, the park is home to thousands of wading birds, including flamingos, and offers sightings of baboons and elephants in its verdant forests. Don't miss the famous tree-climbing lions. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park before your game drive concludes. You will then be transferred to your chosen location—Arusha, Kilimanjaro Airport, or Arusha Airport—bringing your Active Planet Safaris to a memorable close.
